I’m not a big box gym. I’m not a franchise. I’m a private personal training studio in Mesa, Arizona built around one simple idea. People get better results when they have a real coach in their corner.

Our Story
Double A Fitness started with my own story before it ever became a business.
I spent my early adult years competing as an amateur MMA fighter, completely obsessed with performance: how the body moves, recovers, and gets stronger. When I retired from competing, I lost more than a sport. I lost my identity, and for an entire year I let my own health slide while I figured out who I was without it. Starting a family was my wake up call. I didn’t want my kids’ role model to be the guy I was becoming. I started rebuilding with small, actionable steps instead of an all or nothing overhaul, and a lot of those same steps are still in the programs I build for clients today.
That experience is also what pulled me into this career. I got certified shortly after, then went straight after my Performance Enhancement Specialist and Corrective Exercise certifications because I wanted to actually understand what I was doing, not just check a box. I started full time at a big box gym, and one of my first clients lost 80 pounds with me. What mattered more than the number on the scale was watching her enjoy being a mother again and add real years back to her life. That’s the moment I knew this was what I was meant to do.
Double A Fitness exists because too many people in Mesa were paying for gym memberships they weren’t using, following programs that weren’t built for them, and working hard without getting real results. The problem was never effort. It was the lack of a real plan and real accountability.
I built a private studio where every client works directly with me. No rotating staff, no handing you off to whoever’s available, just one coach who knows your name, knows your goal, and shows up for you every single session. I’m not here to sell you a 12-week transformation challenge or a one-size-fits-all program. We’re here to help you build something that lasts, whether that’s losing 30 pounds, getting strong for the first time, or finally being consistent with your health.

Our Coaching Philosophy
Any trainer can make you tired. We’re focused on making you better. We don’t believe in punishing workouts or extreme diets. We believe in building a foundation that actually holds. Here’s how we coach:
- π We start with a plan β Every program starts with a real conversation and a movement assessment, then gets built around your goal, your body, and your schedule.
- π― We focus on fundamentals β Proper movement, progressive overload, and sustainable nutrition habits. No gimmicks, no crash diets. If you can stick to your plan most of the time, that beats a “perfect” plan you abandon in a week.
- π€ We stay in your corner β Between sessions, when motivation dips, when life gets busy. Before we even start, we ask how ready, willing, and able you are to change, because that’s what actually drives results. That’s when coaching matters most.
- π We track everything β Reps, sets, weight, and how each session feels, so you can see your progress clearly and we can adjust roughly every two weeks when something isn’t working
- π¬ We communicate β you’re never guessing what to do next or why you’re doing it.
